“Definite highlight of Newfoundland”

We walked the three kilometre path to Western Brook Pond. The path is generally level and well cleared. Lots of vegetation around us. It is not a hard path to walk and there is no accommodation for motorized vehicles. We got to the Pond, which is not really a pond, but a fjord that was cut off from the sea and contains very pure water. There is a snack bar where they serve hot dogs and packaged snacks like potato chips. There are clean washrooms. We had our packed lunch outdoors before we boarded the boat. The boat holds about 80 people. We went through the majestic fjords. The tour operator on the boat provided a very clear account of the scenes. Although it was cloudy with rain threatening when we arrived, the sun came out and it became quite warm. The tour was two hours with spectacular scenery. This tour is one not to be missed.
